Tyler, the Creator rapped that he was a “modern-day Ian Curtis” – referring to the lead singer of Joy Division. Arguably the most influential band of the post-punk era, Joy Division are credited with influencing a swathe of seminal bands including The Cure, Radiohead, Nine Inch Nails & Bloc Party, but also the likes of contemporary rappers Vince Staples, Lupe Fiasco and Kanye West.
