Bonnie MacLean, once Bonnie MacLean Graham, is well known for the classic rock posters that she created in what was called the ‘psychedelic art style’. Bonnie seemed to accidentally find herself on the rock concert scene through her husband Bill Graham but it ended up suiting her style perfectly.
The avant-garde posters were appealing to the eye thanks to their combination of colours and flowing contours which became synonymous with rock concerts of the ’60s. These posters were a reflection of what was happening at the time with the music industry doing a lot of experimentation – both artistically and recreationally.
Thirty of these posters are in the collection of the Brooklyn Museum, two in the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and you will find them on the walls of some Hard Rock Cafe’s around the globe.
